Put simply, Dunedin Online is a directory of Dunedin’s online shops. We want you to discover all the cool stuff that Ōtepoti has on offer, served on one tempting plate. Let’s celebrate Dunedin’s Design & Craft, Fashion, Flowers & Gifts, Food & Drink, Health & Wellbeing, Jewellery and Kids & Babies stores.
Dunedin Online also is the public front for a group of like-minded businesses called Dunedin Online Traders (DOT). We team up for things like discounts from courier companies and sometimes get together to discuss issues relevant to running an online store, supporting one another and sharing knowledge. We’ve also done offline popup shops!
Dunedin Online is managed by husband and wife team Sam Clarkson and Emily Cooper.
““We created Dunedin Online in 2013 because we wanted to showcase our fellow traders in the city - people running cool businesses, selling online and, for many, going under the radar. We have redesigned the site in 2019 with fresh ideas that we’ve had percolating, like highlighting brands’ top products and adding local fundraisers.””
Sam is an Emmy-nominated creative with his own web design business ClarksonDesign.co.nz and a background in computer game design, film and television.
Emily sold international online clothing brand, Silkbody, in 2018, the business she founded with her father 16 years prior. She also co-founded the Guild store for Dunedin designers and was chair of Dunedin Designed Inc for three years.
Together, Sam and Emily bring their love of Dunedin and their belief in online business to the virtual table!
