Off the backburner
We’ve come out of hibernation to relaunch our beloved Dunedin Online. When a project is a side-hustle, as Dunedin Online was when it began, it’s easy to become distracted by the bigger fish. Now, having sold the 16-year bigger fish (read our About for more), we are ready to realise the Dunedin Online dream and implement all the ideas for it we have had percolating in the last few years.
We’re super excited to add our fundraisers section, where you can support your local charities and not-for-profits by buying their products (cheese rolls, anyone?) or just donating money. As a committee member of the Hawksbury Lagoon Society and a board of trustees member for Karitane School, I was frustrated with the limitations of the traditional fundraising system. It seemed to me that having to contact a volunteer or parent to order fundraising items and pay cash to them, or deposit funds into a bank account, was, frankly, archaic and cumbersome. I hope our new solution make things simpler for everyone!
